Amanah Budget is operated by Amanah Fund, LLC. We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling it in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including PIPEDA (Canada), CCPA/CPRA (California), and GDPR (European Union).

2Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and an encrypted password. Phone number and country are optional fields collected at registration.
Financial data you enter
When you use Amanah Fund, we store the financial data you provide — transactions, budgets, savings goals, zakat calculations, and Ramadan plans. This data is used solely to power your personal dashboard.
Bank account data (if connected)
If you choose to link a bank account, we receive read-only transaction history and account balances from our bank connectivity partner. We never receive or store your banking username or password.
Usage data
We may collect standard technical information such as app version, device operating system, and general usage patterns to diagnose issues and improve the service. This data is not tied to your financial information.
3How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide and improve Amanah Fund features:
- Displaying and syncing your financial dashboard across devices
- Categorizing transactions and tracking spending against budgets
- Calculating zakat obligations and savings goals
- Providing Ramadan budgeting and halal spending awareness features
- Sending optional alerts and notifications you have enabled
- Diagnosing technical issues and improving app performance
We do not use your data for any purpose beyond what is necessary to deliver this service to you.
4What We Never Do
This is a core principle, not a policy detail. We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial data. We do not display advertisements. We do not share, sell, or rent your data. Period. These commitments are unconditional.
5Bank Account Linking
Bank connectivity is powered by a regulated third-party provider. Your banking credentials are entered directly into that provider's secure interface and are never transmitted to or stored by Amanah Fund. We store only an access token, which enables read-only access to your transaction and balance data on your behalf for the accounts you select during the bank connectivity setup.
You can revoke bank account access at any time in the app under Settings → Linked Accounts. Revoking access immediately ends our ability to retrieve new transaction data from your bank. Transactions synced prior to revoking access will continue to be visible in your Amanah Budget transactions.
6Third-Party Services
We use a small number of carefully selected service providers to operate Amanah Budget. Each is bound by data protection obligations and selected for their security standards.

None of these providers are authorized to use your data for their own purposes or to share it with additional parties beyond what is necessary to perform their service for us.
7Data Security
We apply industry-standard security controls to protect your data:
- Encryption in transit: All communication between the app and our servers uses TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Encryption at rest: Your data is encrypted at rest using AES-256.
- Access isolation: Database-level security policies ensure that your data is accessible only to your own account — not to other users.
- No credential storage: Your banking credentials are never transmitted to or stored by Amanah Fund. Authentication is handled securely and passwords are never stored in plaintext.
- On-device: No financial account numbers, access tokens, or credentials are stored locally on your device.
8Data Retention and Deletion
- We retain your personal and financial data for the duration of your active account.
- Authentication and access logs are retained for 90 days.
- If you delete your account, all personal data and financial records are permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Any linked bank access tokens are revoked immediately upon account deletion or at your request.
- Data backups are purged on the same schedule as primary data.

9Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected
- Deletion — request permanent deletion of your data
- Portability — export all your data in a machine-readable format at any time from within the app
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@amanahfund.com or use the in-app settings. We respond within 30 days.
10Consent
By creating an account, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in this Privacy Policy. Bank account linking requires a separate explicit authorization through our bank connectivity provider's secure flow. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
11Children's Privacy
Amanah Fund is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a child has provided personal data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at privacy@amanahfund.com.
13Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification prior to the changes taking effect. Your continued use of Amanah Fund after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. The effective date at the top of this page reflects when the current version was last updated.
